Jakub started coding at 26:
“Programming felt like black magic. I’d never even tried it.”
Нe went from working in urban transport planning to game testing, and eventually started building his own games in Unity.
Infinite Minesweeper was one of Jakub’s earliest projects. He tried other genres, but nothing felt right.
“The idea kept haunting me.
I couldn’t start anything new until I finished it.”
“I always dreamed of having a game with a community, but I never thought this would be the one.”

A community that built itself

Jakub didn’t set out to build a therapeutic game either. But Infinite Minesweeper’s calm mechanics ended up resonating deeply with players. Some have shared that it helped them with daily stress, depression, and is especially appreciated by those on the autism spectrum.

I'm really loving this game. No useless extra features just an endless game of minesweeper.
The way it's made means you can't get stuck; there's always a way to find the next mine.
The one thing I would change is to make it easier to zoom in and out . I really like the gameplay and the customization is great too.

This is exactly what it seems: minesweeper but infinite! When you make a mistake, part of the puzzle becomes working around the blocked sector to open it again, making for a satisfying game loop. Simple and well executed.

I don't think I have any complaints or anything when it comes to this game. I play this game a lot and I think I play too much for my own good, lol. Really good for the mind if you enjoy puzzle solving throughout the infinite realm of Minesweepers!
I played this before jumping out

I played this before jumping out of a helicopter and then I played it after I dried off when I swam to shore, not a joke.

“Maybe it’s because it’s such a simple game, without anything stressful.”
Today 2,000 players are part of its private Discord, accessible only through a link inside the game.
The community moderates itself, shares ideas, reports bugs and helps test new builds.
“My dream? Make my wife happy, buy a house and finally have more time to play games.”
(Right now, he’s into an open-source RTS.)
Jakub switched to Appodeal Mediation in 2024. “The SDK just worked. I integrated it and built the game without issues.”
What stood out most was the human approach. “When the team reached out, it made a difference. With my previous partner, no one ever contacted me, but this one has stayed in touch ever since.
Appodeal also supported his soft launch with no strings attached. “They invested in real tests. I had tried running UA myself and just burned cash. This time I got new users and insights that helped me grow.”

What it takes to succeed today

Jakub’s advice:

Find your niche

Most Minesweeper games are clones. His twist is an infinite board split into 8×8 sectors. It became both a gameplay hook and a monetization feature. It keeps players coming back: “just one more sector.”

Test where your audience is

“If you launch in the wrong market, you might miss retention targets and lose support, even if the game is good.”
He soft-launched in the US, where Minesweeper is well-known, and hit 30% D1 retention.
“They invested in real tests. I had tried running UA myself and just burned cash. This time I got new users and insights that helped me grow.”
