The second Appodeal Indie Game Blast Off Contest was even bigger than the first, with so many amazing submissions and a neck-and-neck voting period. We went from 12 finalists in the first contest to 15 in the second, because there were too many great games to choose from.
So who won? We’re excited to congratulate UPO: Alien Rescue, the grand prize winner of our second contest. The winning app was co-created by Bonsters Studio based in Tbilisi, Georgia and rikkir from New Brunswick, Canada.
“We found out about Appodeal’s contest through Facebook forums and people sharing it. We believe that this unique experience has shown us a company like Appodeal helping launch new and undiscovered games. It’s an amazing opportunity and we are grateful,” said Richard Wilson, CTO & Co-founder of rikkir.
“Our team Irakli Geleishvili, David Jimsheleishvili and Nanuka Sepashvili sat down together and began the conceptual idea of a great game with amazing look, feel and flow,” said Richard. He joined forces with Bonsters to take the game to the next level. “Casual Connect judges said this about our prototype of UPO, “It could be the next Flappy Bird”. So we had all the reasons for focusing on development of UPO and now we are excited to have it released!”
The winning game wins a unique opportunity for a mobile install ad campaign powered by Appodeal’s Intelligent Ad Mediation to acquire 10,000 new players, 1-on-1 mentorships with mobile gaming publishers and a spot at the Indie Prize at Casual Connect 2017.
